Scarflettes with Handmade Glass Buttons

I bought these gorgeous handmade glass buttons from GillanBeads . I thought they'd add so much to my scarflettes and they really have. I made one yesterday and loved it so much that I had to make two more to see how they turned out. You can bet I'll be picking up more of these buttons.

My camera was about to shut down due to low batteries, so I had to work fast and furious just to get these pictures. I'll be taking more later to list them. Not sure if I should wait until the fall to list them though? When I do they'll be listed at $25US, each. I hope you like them since there will be more coming!

Hats and Cozies

I was asked to join in on an anniversary celebration for a shop that's been around for a year. She's having a rainbow theme and asked if I could create 3 hats. One yellow, one blue, one purple. Here's what I did. The yellow hat is the same design as the other flapper hats I do. The purple hat has a fancier scalloped edge and the delft blue hat is a visor beanie. Too cute.
I've also been making lip balm cozies again. I posted this pink tones one for the tubes and then had some requests for the tubes. I do make them, I just usually don't list them. But I've started to list them and they have been selling. Yay!

Warm Feet

I've heard how addictive it is to make socks. It's something I just never did before. I prefer to crochet over knitting. But I took the plunge. I've been oogling over sock yarn for sometime now. The other day my Mom was in town and asked to go to the yarn store. While there I bought some fabulous yarn that's a mix of merino wool, alpaca & silk. Ooohhh so nice to work with. And I picked up some sock yarn.

Although I'm not even done my first sock I love making them! They take awhile to make, at least for me, but I really enjoy it. I also think socks will be something I keep for me & gifts for others. I'm holding back looking at other sock yarn now. Although I did just buy a beautiful set of stitch markers that will be perfect for socks! I can't wait to get them. I may have to buy more sock yarn just to try out the new stitch markers.

The one thing I did want was bamboo needles. The problem is they didn't have the size I needed. The one size that was sold out! Go figure. So perhaps when I finally get around to getting new bamboo needles I'll once again have to go buy some new sock yarn. It's a vicious circle really.

Spring Flowers

I recently completed a custom order for 50 flowers. She's going to make signature pins out of them!

I was also asked to make these two lip balm cozy key chains for tubes.

Melting snow means more hats

Here are some hats I've finished and shipped recently.

Delft Blue with a white flower and rose pink centre:

Apple Green with a fuscia flower. This is actually an itty bitty one. It's a 0-3mth hat that I made just a wee bit smaller since it's going to be used in a photo shoot for a 1 week old baby. Ahhhh....

And a smaller visor hat. This one took me forever to finish. For some reason I just could not get the sizing right and then I had issues with the visor! I've made multiple adult hats like this without issue, but this 5+ hat made me work for the end result. I'm sure I ripped it out at various stages at least 10 times.

The BEST Mittens Ever!

A very good friend of mine made a bunch of us mittens back in college. They were awesome. Made from Lopi wool and lined with fleece. I've had mine for about 8 to 10 years. This year she saw the state of them and decided to make me a new pair which she brought to me yesterday and I absolutely LOVE. So here are my new best mittens ever! They're so warm and cozy.

Fit for a Clown

I had a customer buy a hat from me awhile ago. She's a clown. She recently contacted me to make her some more hats and a poncho/caplette. Here's what I'm sending her. I love the bright colours. On occasion buyers will email me pictures of them wearing my hats and stuff. I love it! I would love to see this customer in her clown costume.

The caplette isn't given any justice in this picture. It's really quite cute.

This is another custom order hat I made - great colour choices. Makes me think of fall and apple picking season.
