I'm The Proud New Owner Of...

A Domain Name!!

Check it out:

http://www.loopy4ewe.com

Right now it just points to my etsy store. But one day I may have my own website, possibly with a shopping cart for my Canadian friends? Who knows what can become of it. But it's all very exciting.

I also finished a wicked earflap hat. Pink and Brown. Nice big chunky stripes. It turned out amazing. I still have to take a picture, but I'm working on a tight deadline. Just wanted to share my exciting domain name news.

Getting Ready for Winter

I've been working on some earflap hats for winter.

The first is one I made for my son. It took a few tries to get things right but I think it works. I'm pretty sure I"ll be making these for my table and Etsy store soon. It's made from 100% cotton and for extra warmth I crocheted it with 2 strands.

The second one is a ski hat for an adult woman. It's not completed yet, I still have to darn in all the ends and add little braided strings coming down from the earflaps. It's made from Ultra Alpaca (50% Alpaca, 50% Wool) and is Super Soft. I'm having a hard time coming to terms with giving this one up.

Finished Projects

It feels so great to finish projects and recently I've finished a few.

Yesterday I made some washcloths. I had made another set before, but never took a picture of the first set. The first set was made using variegated yarn of lime green & white. This is the 2nd set I made.

I was also asked if I could make my flower power coasters in some retro colours. This project was very exciting because I was finally able to source some brown cotton!!! Something that I've been looking for for awhile now but wasn't having any luck with.

Last, but not least, I finished the lip balm cozy order. Again, another job that I am thrilled with the end results. It may be hard to see in the pictures, but some of them are meant to look like cupcakes and even have sprinkles on them. How cute are there?

There's a Lime in My Coconut

Lime green with taupe cozy. The button isn't attached to this one, it's just there for placement. And of course I still need to add the key ring:) But it gives you a good idea of what it'll look like. Colours may be slightly different due to variances in monitors, etc.

This is the 2nd version and I've also done a side by side comparison. In the 2nd one the brown is more chocolaty but the green isn't as lime. Again the buttons have not been sewn on and I still need to attach the keyrings.

Blues Sunhat

I did a couple more sunhats this weekend for custom orders. One was the natural with the pink stripe that I've already done. They've been purchased for sisters so I had to make a bigger one for the older sister.

And I finished this one too which will be going in the post today:

Little Artists in the Making

I normally don't post about my kids on this blog, unless they're modelling something for me. But I can't resist this one and it is somewhat related since it has to do with creative expression.

We were given some big pieces of bristol board so I decided to head outside yesterday with the kids, some paint and the bristol boards to have fun. The only rule - no brushes were to be used:) The kids had a blast and I think they're art turned out beautiful!

Sew Little Time

Awhile back I bought some really cute material to make my girl a dress for summer. She loves her dresses so I thought it would be fun to try to make one. I can sew ok. Not great enough to sell something - but I get by.

The pattern and material are still sitting in the bag. I did actually pre-wash the material. So really, everything is ready for me to get working on. I have to finish 2 pairs of slippers (cat & bunny) that need to go in the mail by Friday, my goal is Wednesday. And another sunhat to match one I've already made for some sisters. If I can get these done by Friday then my goal will be to at least cut out the pieces this weekend. Maybe even dust off the ole sewing machine.
