A flower in the rough

I recently attempted a black hat with the skull and cross bones on it. Which I think worked out well. It's knit. Soon I'll be making a pink one with a black skull.

I also though that I would attempt it as a pink crocheted beanie. Which hasn't been working out so well. I've ripped it out twice already. This is the best it's turned out, but it's still looks wonky. I don't have room for the crossbones. Back to the drawing board for this one! Rrrrriiiipppp

And I also finished this beanie. It's a rose pink with a double layer white flower that has a pale yellow centre. Very cute & girly!

Cutie Sporting Loopy Wear

I was given permission to use this picture to promote my work. Isn't she cute?!?! I think she makes a great little model for my hat. I loved making this hat and I love how it looks on her. Definitely going to be making more of those!!!

More Hats

All the hats I've been making lately seem to be turning out smaller then I intend. I think I'll have to go up to a bigger hook next time.

Here are two beanies. The pictures don't show their true colours very well, everything has a bit of a blue ting in the picture. One of the beanies is blue and the other is done with variegated cotton that reminds me of sherbert.

Here's a skull hat I made. It's intended for a girl around 7, I think. I should measure it to be sure. It's actually purple, but looks blue in this picture. Not sure if I'll make it again. Kind of looks like a bell in this picture?!?!

The jury is still out on this next one. I attempted to do a monograph on the hat. This was my first attempt, which I think I'll rip out and try to do it with a double strand instead. I'm also wondering if I should use a brighter shade of pink too? Hmmmm decisions.

And lastly, here's a kerchief I made. I messed it up so Syd gets to claim it as her own. A minor mess up that I'm sure most wouldn't notice, but I do, so I doesn't go in the sale bin! Which is fine because she loves it and has been wearing it all the time.

More Flower Power and Child Sun Hat

I loved making the coasters last time so I made a new set with hot pink & hot blue. I love the colours. So bright

And here's another custom hat I made. It's the same as the sun hat I posted early, but for a baby. I saw a few pictures of her wearing it and it looked SO cute! I'm wondering if I make more of these if I can get my little guy to pose for me without ripping it off? Cause it really looks cute!

I've finished a cute kerchief that I"ll have to try to figure out how to photograph it and I'm working on another skull cap. I also have a baby blanket on the go too (still). I need to work faster!

Beaded hat and another custom job

I made this hat yesterday. The original idea was that it was suppose to be a straw hat, made out of a rayon material that had the look and feel of raffia. However, the hat would have been VERY expensive since I'd have to import the material from the states. So I tried it with a natural colour cotton. I think it turned out nice and it's much less expensive!

This is another custom hat I was asked to do. Custom for size & colours.

Blue Brown Hat, Small bunnies and an attempt

This is the latest hat I finished. I used the cotton/nylon blend which is nice. Very stretch & shimmery. Pictures certainly don't do the yarn justice.

This is what the bunny slippers look like in their smallest size (5 1/2"). Cute eh? I've made 2 smaller pair now. I was actually approached to consign these in the states, but I declined for now. Perhaps I'll think about it in the future, but right now I'm trying to keep up with my orders, make new things and build inventory!

This was my attempt at a visor beanie. I ripped out the visor many times to make revisions. My guy didn't make the best model, I tried getting many pictures on the run which didn't work, tried holding him on the ground (2nd picture) which only worked for a side view. But I think you get the idea.

More Selling!

Yay! I just sold the original pink skull cap with the flowers and got another custom order for some small bunny slippers and a crocheted hat. This time a yellow hat with a green flower & white centre. Before I get those done though I need to finish a cute brimmed cotton hat I started. I also started another baby blanket. Figured it's a good one to have on the go to give me a break here and there.

I know I said this before but I'm so thrilled that this is working. I'm feeling a bit of pressure to get some new things posted on Etsy, but once again it'll have to wait.

I have a cool crochet beach hat I really want to make too - just need to find the right yarn, looking for some raffia yarn.

Oh and if you haven't seen the pirate cardigan I just finished scroll down to two posts ago. It's back there because of the original date that I posted it - just wanted to give someone a sneak peak at it, but couldn't let it stay live since it was going to be a gift.

Another Custom Hat

I just finished this hat for someone. I love the pink flower on it!

Now that my needles & hooks are free I'm ready to try my hand at a visor cap. Wish me luck!

Shhhh Sneak Peak

Ok, I can post this for real now since it's already been received as a gift. I posted it quickly before to show someone a sneak peak of it.
